The Glastonbury Chair is an early 16th century style of wooden folding armchair (Faldstool) usually made from English Oak originally it was made in Britain in 1504 on a description brought back from Rome by Abbot Richard Beere for Glastonbury Abbey and was designed to be easily dismantled for transport.
